Mr. Varner’s background in laboratory service spans more than 40 years with over 20 years of management experience at Environmental Hazards Services. Howard provides strategic guidance and operational expertise to all departments at EHS. Howard has been actively involved in AIHA’s accreditation programs and has previously served on the Analytical Accreditation Board, as well as chaired the Environmental Lead Committee and Asbestos Registry Program. Howard has also served on Virginia’s Regulatory Board for Asbestos, Lead and Home Inspectors. Howard holds a Masters’ Degree in Business and Public Administration with an emphasis in Environmental Management from Southeastern University in Washington D.C. as well as a Bachelor of Science in Biology Education from Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond Virginia.

Mrs. Dickerson manages daily operations and interfaces with all lab managers, business development, customer service, technical and administrative personnel. In addition to providing overall direction and leadership for assigned directives, Julie is also responsible for the Quality Assurance plans and maintenance of accreditation, regulatory and licensure requirements. Julie has over 22 years’ experience in analytical and inorganic chemistry and a strong background in management. Julie holds an American Chemical Society certified Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry with Mathematics minor from Salisbury University.

Having 13 years of environmental laboratory experience, Kathy oversees all aspects of sales and marketing and is responsible for long term client growth. Acting as intermediary between laboratory personnel and clients, Kathy works to ensure all project expectations are met. In addition to representing EHS at industry conferences, Kathy identifies new markets and emerging trends, recommends areas of company growth, proposes new strategic partnerships, writes proposals and along with the management team, develops business objectives. Kathy holds an Associates Certificate in Marketing from Cornell University’s Johnson School of Management, serves as the Secretary and Treasurer for Central Virginia Section of the American Industrial Hygiene Association (CVAIHA), is an active member of the Lead and Environmental Hazard Association (LEHA) and the Environmental Information Association.

Since joining the laboratory in 2005 as a customer service representative, Tiffany has embraced and improved upon our mission to continuously enhance our clients’ customer experience. Tiffany oversees and participates in day-to-day pre and post-analytical sample processing activities and ensures that all activities within the Accessioning Department are performed and documented according to the established SOPs. Working in conjunction with both the Business Development team and Laboratory personnel, Tiffany continuously monitors and evaluates sample workflow and identifies problems that may arise.

In 2014 Missy joined the EHS team bringing with her over 20 years of environmental laboratory experience. Often the first point of contact for new and potential clients, Missy is ideally suited for the duality of her current role. Her interpersonal skills and extensive understanding of the laboratory process enable her to assist clients with both technical and account questions. Committed to excellence, Missy has been able to transform the traditional position of QC Clerk into one of active business development by providing client relationship support and expediting problem resolutions.

With 10 years of environmental laboratory experience and 3 years of field work experience, Tariq is uniquely suited to assist clients whenever practical sampling advice is needed. In addition to participating in daily sample accessioning, Tariq is responsible for the secure and effective operation of all computer systems, related applications, hardware and software that is used within the laboratory. Tariq holds a Bachelors’ Degree in History from Virginia Commonwealth University.

Mr. Dee has been a member of the EHS team for the past 11 years. As Chemistry Lab Supervisor, Tony is responsible for the direction of daily laboratory operations as well as supervising a team of analysts and technicians. Additionally, Tony works in conjunction with the QA Manager to monitor and develop methods and quality control programs. Mr. Dee provides the technical skills necessary to maintain and troubleshoot laboratory instrumentation. Tony holds a Bachelors’ Degree from Virginia Commonwealth University in Interdisciplinary Science.

For the past 24 years, Ms. Fletcher has been a key member of the EHS team. Supervising a team of more than ten analysts, Kathy is responsible for the daily operations of the asbestos laboratory and ensures sample turnaround time requirements are met. Additionally Kathy is responsible for enforcing strict safety policies within the asbestos lab. Kathy is a registered nurse and holds Asbestos Certifications from the University of North Carolina and the Medical College of Virginia as well as a Bachelors’ Degree in Occupational Safety and Health from Columbia Southern University.

Ms. Butler joined EHS shortly after receiving her Bachelors’ Degree in Biology from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2009. As the Technical Supervisor, Felicia provides leadership, guidance and support to a team of 4 analysts. Additionally, she is responsible for the day-to-day quality control activities within the mold laboratory as well as ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of specified testing processes.
