Bernard Robinson

Founder and President

As a high-performing, results-driven, analytical person, it’s no wonder Bernard started NTS and built it into the successful company it is today. Currently, he enjoys using his leadership background to motivate, train and mentor people at all levels of expertise. Bernard gained his extensive experience at companies such as CMS/Halifax, Comtech, Inc., IBM and Xerox as both a sales manager and a marketing manager. Just some of the awards and recognition Bernard has received in recent years include Ernst and Young’s Entrepreneur of the Year, the Richmond Times Dispatch Rising 25 Award and Virginia Business’ Fantastic 50 Award. Under his helm, NTS has been named a DiversityBusiness.com Top 100 Diversity Owned Business for multiple years and one of the Inc 500 Fastest Growing Companies.

Gene Fitz

Chief Financial Officer

In his role as CFO, Gene oversees the overall accounting, financial reporting and analysis functions of the company including those for the consolidated and divisional results. Gene is responsible for all budgeting and forecasting initiatives, providing the management team with valuable information so the goals of their divisions are accomplished with financial foresight. He brings extensive experience in strategic and process improvement without sacrificing data integrity or internal controls.

Gene is a CPA with over 30 years of accounting and financial management success in various industries, including manufacturing, distribution, nonprofit, and real estate. His experience is varied and deep, including auditing, GAAP, taxation, cash management, treasury, and mergers and acquisitions. He has also been successful leading multiple teams in various non-accounting specialties including human resources, grant management, regulatory compliance, quality assurance, and project management. Gene received his B.S. in Accounting from Va Tech, his Masters in Taxation from VCU, and an MBA, with honors, from William & Mary. Gene enjoys many outdoor activities and volunteers his time to various organizations, including Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Richmond.
